Use the correct table and account

Divide prior December 31 balance by the current IRS denominator for your age this year. Births before July 1, 1949 started at 70½; later 1949–1950 births at 72; 1951–1958 at 73; and 1960 onward at 75. For 1959 this tool assumes 73 under the proposed IRS clarification, not a finalized cohort rule. Confirm that starting age with your custodian. Original-owner Roth accounts have no lifetime RMDs. This tool excludes historic tax-year tables, inherited accounts, the younger-spouse joint table, first-year deadline scheduling and employer-plan still-working exceptions.

Questions, answered.

Is the monthly equivalent a monthly deadline?

No. RMD is an annual requirement. The monthly equivalent is only the annual estimate divided by 12.

Does this use my personal records?

No. Enter amounts or assumptions only. The site cannot retrieve an SSA earnings record, bank account, pension award or tax return.

Can I calculate with JavaScript turned off?

Yes. Each form sends a standard GET request and PHP calculates the result. JavaScript only improves the update and consent experience.

Why do the official numbers differ from my result?

Individual eligibility, exact dates, rounding, deductions and rules omitted from a simplified scenario can change the amount. Check the source and your own agency notice.

Can I print the calculation?

Use your browser’s print command. The inputs, result and assumptions remain; navigation and consent controls are removed from the printed view.

Check the sources.
